Medical Escort

AMREF Flying Doctors provides experienced English speaking doctors or nurses to accompany patient/s on commercial airlines. This includes:

• Arranging medical approval from the airline.
• Meeting the patient and providing assistance at the airport, including wheel chairs and other equipment as required.
• Providing assistance with transport and other logistics should the medical escort team arrive from another country.
• Informing the hospital/doctor/patient/family of the medical arrangements.

Medical Stand-by

AMREF Flying Doctors provide a nurse, ground ambulance and/or aircraft on stand-by during an emergency.

Ground Ambulance Transfer

AMREF Flying Doctors provides a ground ambulance for transfer from the pick-up point to the hospital.

Medical Dispatch

AMREF Flying Doctors arranges medicine or substitute medicine for a patient. Medicine will be collected and delivered by AMREF Flying Doctors, including the issuing of prescriptions as required. This service is only available in Nairobi however AMREF will endeavour to provide assistance to patients in other locations.

Medical Advice

AMREF Flying Doctors provides medical advice 24 hours a day by telephone, radio, fax or email from AMREF's 24 hour Control Centre.
